Last Saturday was the last day of my cake decorating class and wellll, yes I received my Cake Decorating Class Certificate .
Aren't you proud of me? Even if your not, I'm proud of myself!!!! Now that the class is over it was easier than I thought it would be, but it is time consuming. I thought I was going to get a little box cake and a can of icing a WAHALA I'm finished, but it didn't quit work out like that. Although our teacher did give us the choice of box or home made cake I opted for the homemade...just to make sure my baking skills are up to par (before I venture into this world of baking and cup caking), and of course they were...did you expect anything different?!?!?!?! No? Well me either because each time they came out fabtabulous (fantastic and fabulous)!!
For our last class we had to bake a cake, fill it, ice it, and decorate it ourselves from the techniques we learned in class the last few weeks. I made a yellow cake and filled it with raspberry white chocolate chip cream cheese (it was soooooo freaken good)
I iced the cake with a butter cream icing....yes all this is from scratch.
In class we learned how to make roses, and this is my first one. Lets just say these take much practice!!!
I then decorated and finished up my cake. It was cute but I'll leave the cake decorating to the professionals and I'll work on perfecting cupcakes!!!
I had another cake that I filled and iced and took to work. Unless they were lying I received a lot of compliments on how good it was...especially the raspberry white chocolate cream cheese filling. All-n-all I really enjoy taking the class. It gave me chance to do something for myself and learn something new at the same time. There's another class that I'll be taking (God willing) in August that I look forward to. Thinking twice a month I'll take a new experiment to work and see what they think.
Congrats Joy,
